Top Golf Scottsdale (Talking Stick):
If you've never been, Top Golf is a great time for all who dare. You need not be a golfer to score well. The Top Golf set up is great with automatic scoring, shot tracking, and more! Actually, if you're lucky you'll probable do better than the "golfers" in the bunch. It's perfect for all occasions and it's great for ages from four to ninety-four! They've got everything you'll need to put on your driving clinic from irons to drivers, and most importantly food and beverage (including alcoholic beverages). Make a bet, do a shot or simply enjoy the food.
Top Golf at Talking Stick is about 10 minutes from downtown Scottsdale and 20 minutes or so from phoenix. It's conveniently located right off the 101 and Talking Stick Way. Bring a date, your friends, or family. It's definitely a family-friendly activity and we think you'll really enjoy it!
Scottsdale-Road recommends Top Golf Scottsdale/Talking Stick weather you're a real golfer or just a hack. We also recommend making a reservation as far in advance as possible. It frequently fills up quickly, and call ahead and ask for their current specials. Did we forget to mention, Top Golf is also a great place to host your corporate events.

Have a great time at Top Golf, Scottsdale Road recommends it. Top Golf - IT'S HOT!

Silverado Golf Club:
The Silverado Golf Club is a better than average course, and it's conveniently located in central. Scottsdale. The skill level for this course is great for both beginner and intermediate players. The course features a full-service pro shop, practice putting green, a grille/restaurant that's open for breakfast, lunch and happy hour, but no driving range. We had a great round on the Silverado course and think it is well suited for most golfers.
The Silverado course is a 6,313 yard, par 70, 18-hole championship layout. Prior to the price increases (common throughout the valley) for the fall season it was reasonably priced. There are several notable holes on the Silverado course including the 535 yard par 5, 14th which is great for hitting driver from the elevated tee box. It's three shots for most to the green, and best to play it down the right to allow yourself a great angle to the green. The 368 yard par 4, 16th is relatively short hole, with a good drive, and is prime for birdie. There is one fairway bunker down the left side and a couple small bunkers to the right side of the green which slopes back to front. The . This course, for its skill level, is not the best value in our opinion compared to other public courses in the valley, but worth trying at least once.
Silverado Golf Club is located about 10 minutes or so from downtown Scottsdale, and 20 minutes or so from Phoenix. It should be on the list of courses to play for both local and visiting golfers. The course is open to the public and gets a 3.5 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com for the course itself. It's worth noting that the entire staff was quite friendly and helpful making our round even more enjoyable.
Scottsdale-Road recommends Silverado Golf Club weather you're visiting our you call the valley home. We think you'll like it but be prepared for a slower than average pace as there are often more golfers than tee times.

The Silverado Golf Club course was in terrific shape when we played, especially considering the heavy rains that were experienced the evening prior to our round. The greens were in beautiful shape and the fairways were lush and green. The course is well maintained and the staff was friendly. Give Silverado Golf Club a try, we think you'll enjoy it. The course is fun and somewhat challenging, depending on your play level. Tell them your friends at Scottsdale-Road sent you!

Grayhawk Golf Club:
The Grawhawk Golf course is a terrific course located in N. Scottsdale. The skill level for this desert course is not for the beginner, and will definitely test your skills. The course also features a full-service pro shop, practice putting, chipping, and driving areas, with fabulous restaurant options including Phil's Grill and Isabella's across the street. We enjoyed the course and think you will too. Grayhawk Golf Club is one of our top 25 picks in the valley, and that's saying a lot. Its a great experience.
The Grayhawk Raptor course is a Tom Fazio design and has been billed as one of the most beautiful courses in the region - we agree. It boasts spectacular views of the neighboring McDowell Mountains and desert landscapes. It offers two options; the Raptor and Talon courses. We played the Raptor course and loved it. Raptor features beautiful rolling fairways and large bent grass greens and most holes have grass from tee to green. Be certain to avoid the bunkers and numerous swells as they can adversely affect your score. Holes to take note of are the 156-yard 8th, with its two-tiered green guarded by large bunkers to the front. Hole 18 is spectacular with its water to the right and deep bunkers to the left. The Raptor course is a par-72, and plays approximately 7,135 yards from the tips. Again, this course is not for the beginner, so be on your game and hit it straight! This course is not the most affordable, but during the summer months it is a little more palatable with a round setting you back between $110 - $240/round (range balls are included in the greens fee). Grayhawk Golf Club is located about 20 minutes or so from downtown Scottsdale, and 30 minutes or so from Phoenix. It should be on the list of courses to play for both local and visiting golfers. The course is open to the public and gets a 4.3 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com for the course itself. However, the helpfulness and friendliness from the staff is definitely lacking. For a course of this caliber we expected more, and so should you.
The Grayhawk course is not your typical desert course as it's beauty is hard to match, and the homes lining the course are a sight to behold. This course will test your skills. In fact, Grayhawk Golf Club has been the site of may NCAA college championships for both the men and women. Scottsdale-Road recommends Grayhawk Golf Club at least once, and we think you'll be back again and again.

The Grayhawk Golf Club course was in spectacular shape when we played, especially considering it's the hottest weather of the year. The greens were immaculate and the fairways were pristine. The course is very well maintained but the staff was somewhat lacking. We expected more from the saff. Give Grayhawk Golf Club a try, especially while the rates are reasonable as they will increase dramatically once fall arrives in the valley. The course is fun and challenging, and we think you'll fall in love with this course! Grayhawk Golf Club - IT'S HOT!

Talking Stick Golf Club:
The Talking Stick Golf course is a terrific course located in E. Scottsdale. The skill level is beginner to intermediate and the fairways are wide open and forgiving. The course also features a wonderful pro shop, practice putting and driving areas, and wonderful options for food either at the course or at the Talking Stick Resort. Give the Wild Horse Grill a try, we think you'll like it. Anyway you cut it, its a pretty great experience and the staff is friendly and very helpful.
The Talking Stick course is a Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore design offering two different courses depending on your skill level. The course we played was the Piipaash course, featuring multiple par-4s, par-5s, and several par-3s to ensure you have plenty of opportunities to enjoy your round. The par-4, 12th hole, is of particular interest as you must decide weather to carry the creek and set up for your approach shot into the green. The course, from the gold tees plays approximately 6,430 yards. Again, this course is very forgiving due to the wide fairways, so be on your game and hit it well! This course is affordable during the summer months, and an great value at just $22/round (range balls are included in the greens fee). Talking Stick Golf Club is located less than 10 minutes from downtown Scottsdale making it convenient and attractive to both local and visiting golfers. The course is open to the public and gets a 3.3 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com.
The Talking Stick course is a typical desert course and an easy play. The course is great because there are no houses to get in the way of your drives, especially if they get off track. Hit away my friends! This course is moderately challenging and quite fun, and we definitely recommend it at least once.

The Talking Stick Golf Club course was in great shape when we played, especially considering it's the dead of summer. The greens were immaculate and the fairways were well maintained. Give Talking Stick Golf Club a try, is quite fun, and we think you'll enjoy it!

Stone Creek Golf Club:
The Stone Creek Golf course is a traditional links-style layout weaving its way through the beautiful Paradise Valley, with its amazing mountain views to both the south and west. The fairways are equally as beautiful with their undulations and the greens were playing a little slow and were spectacular slightly above average shape. The bunkers are strategically placed to make it all the more challenging. Our recommendation: don't go in the sand as the traps are in terrible shape and play more like a parking lot than a sand trap. Stone Creek also features a more than adequate practice facilities with both chipping and putting areas as well as a driving range. Drive it straight and beware the rough, it is rough! This course is affordable during the summer months, and an incredible value at just $25/round. We were told it's one of the areas best kept secrets - we agree! It's located just minutes from both Phoenix and Scottsdale making it convenient and attractive to both local and visiting golfers. The course is open to the public and gets a 3.8 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com.
The Stone Creek Golf course reminds us of courses we've played in the South, specifically the Atlanta, GA area. Stone Creek is a course riddled with water and rolling hills. This course is challenging and incredibly fun, and we definitely recommend it to all who dare.

Again, the Stone Creek course was in average shape when we played. It offers a great value and also features a pretty good restaurant. Stone Creek is conveniently located about 15 minutes from downtown Scottsdale and Phoenix so you can go out and play 18, then dine at one of the areas many wonderful restaurants #amazingrestaurants throughout the city. Give Stone Creek is incredibly fun, and we think you'll love it!

Starfire Golf Club:
The Starfire Golf course is a fun little public course located conveniently off the 101 & Cactus Road in N. Scottsdale. One thing it is not is a desert course. Hit it straight of watch out for the homes! This course is affordable and fun and a little challenging at times. It offers a full 18-hole course (King), a 9-hole executive course (Mulligan), putting and chipping areas, nice full-length driving range, and a great little restaurant and pro shop. Starfire is offering some great summer rates but be sure to take plenty of water to help beat the desert heat. The course is open to the public and gets a 3.2 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com.
The 18-hole course plays about 6,100 yards and features some beautiful water holes, a few challenging dog-leg fairways, and several fun par-threes. The course is currently in fair shape, considering it's mid-Summer, and the greens are in absolutely perfect condition. The bunkers were in poor condition as they were quite hard and unforgiving. Good practice for these traps would be hitting sand-wedge shots off the parking lot surface.
On the positive side, Starfire offers great views of the McDowell Mountains and is nestled in a nice little neighborhood with homes lining nearly the entire course. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the clubhouse offers some pretty solid food.

Again, The Starfire course was in fair shape when played. It offers a great value for a single, doubles, or the entire family. Starfire is conveniently located about 20 minutes from downtown Scottsdale so you can play a quick 18 then hit the night life in countless fun-spots scattered throughout the city. Give Starfire a go, we think you'll like it!

Dove Valle Ranch Golf Club:
Dove Valley Golf course is a fun course nestled in the Sonoran desert hills. It's truly a desert course with it's featuring multiple sweeping fairways. The course is a Robert Trent Jones layout and can be somewhat challenging. It's located just 30-minutes or so from downtown Scottsdale and during the summer it's easy to get a tee time all day long. The course really takes advantage of the natural landscape and is filled with wildlife. On our outing we spotted coyotes, hundreds of rabbits and even a couple of snakes. Be careful when venturing off the beaten path. The course is open to the public and gets a 3.7 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com.
On our visit to Dove Valley the greens were somewhat choppy, a little slow, but true to the roll. They had recently been punched, as most courses are in mid-Summer, but was fun nonetheless. Dove Valley features some wide fairways for easy landings as you set up for your approach shots in to the greens. The course also features three water holes with numerous sand-traps, really making things interesting. With four tee-box placements you'll be playing between 7,011 yards to 5,337 yards. From the tips the course is as challenging as any course in the valley of this caliber. Number 8 is 1 handicap and probably the most challenging, but if you stay left you should be alright.

The Dove Valley Golf course was in fair shape when we played, which was to be expected considering it's the heat of the summer. The font and back nine are quite different from each other, with the back being much more challenging due to the multiple dog-legs. Be sure to pick up a course sheet detailing each holes throughout as it will be of great value, especially on the back.

Dove Valley Golf Club is a fun desert course with its challenging holes, water features, many sand-traps, and its desert landscape. Quite possibly, the best part of the course, is its professional, courteous staff. These guys and gals will keep us coming back for certain! Be sure to ask for Jeremy, he'll go out of his way to make sure you're set up for your best round yet. Take our advice and give Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club a shot - we think you'll like it!

Silverleaf Golf Club:
Silverleaf Golf Club is an absolutely fabulous course with spectacular views and perfectly groomed fairways and greens. The course is a Tom Weiskopf design, and is both challenging and fun. It's located just 30-minutes from downtown Scottsdale and is nestled in an upscale residential development in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains. This is a breathtaking course and has been designed to make the most of the natural landscape. The views are absolutely stunning and this course is a must, if you can get on! Silverleaf, is maintained at its best, always, and features effortless greens and carpet-like fairways. Silverleaf gets 4.8 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com and is absolutely deserving!
The Silverleaf greens were smooth and consistent on each and every hole. It's a desert course and can definitely be challenging. You'll be provided an expert caddy who knows every twist and turn on this magnificent course, and will do his best to make you feel just like a pro.

Silverleaf features a very driveable, short par-four 9th, and the water-loaded par-four 13th will definitely keep you on your toes. The par-four 18th is one of the toughest on the course and will test your skills from tee-box to the cup (498 yards). Silverleaf Golf Club was in immaculate condition, and may be the only time we'll have this opportunity! Silverleaf Golf Club gets a top rating for its design, its virtually perfect condition, its natural desert beauty, and the Silverleaf Clubhouse and associated facilities. Silverleaf is the epitome of luxury and perfection.

Silverleaf Golf Club has been named on of the top 100 courses in the country (we say it's a top 10)! Yes, it's that great. We compare Silverleaf to Augusta Country Club, in Augusta, GA. Silverleaf Golf Club is one of Scottsdale's best courses and we highly recommend it. You'll have to know someone though, as it's a members only experience. Our advice, make some new friends and get out to Silverleaf! Silverleaf Golf Club- It's Hot!

Troon North Golf Club:
Troon North Golf Club is an absolutely fabulous course with its spectacular views and perfectly groomed fairways and greens. The course is both challenging and fun. If you're not straight off the tees, you had better bring plenty of extra balls. The layout of the course will definitely be a test of your golf skills. One thing for certain, no two holes are the same. We played the Monument course and loved every stroke (probably a few too many)! Troon North, for its spectacular views, challenging fairways, and perfectly maintained greens gets a 4.4 out of 5 stars from Scottsdale-Road.com!
The Troon North greens were consistent throughout the course and made for some spectacular putting. This is truly a desert course so again bring plenty of balls if you're working on your game, and beware of the potential for snakes and other creatures. The Troon North Monument course can be both unforgiving and challenging - to say the least! Beware the par 5, third hole with its dog-leg right. It can be reached in two, but if you miss good luck finding your ball in the beautiful Sonoran desert.

Always remember when playing summers in the valley, it's very usually quite hot so be keep hydrated while enjoying this amazing course (mid-October through mid-May are ideal for play in the valley). Troon North was in pristine condition when we played, and while it was our first time playing here, it definitely won't be our last. Troon North gets a very good rating for its challenging design, its near perfect condition, and its natural desert beauty.

Troon North falls within our top 10 courses for the valley! It's a bit of a hike as it's about 20 minutes north of the 101 and Pima, but well worth the trip. Troon North Golf Club is one of Scottsdale's best kept secrets and we highly recommend it. Troon North Golf Club- It's Hot!

Lookout Mountain Golf Club:
Lookout Mountain Golf Club is a wonderful, and challenging course. The course is well maintained, and features some of the most challenging greens we've experienced yet. It's located in N.W. Phoenix (the area of the 51 and N. 7th Street). As we mentioned, this course is a bit challenging, featuring a few narrow fairways and very challenging greens (depending on the pin placement of course). Lookout Mountain is an award-winning course including one of Arizona's Top 10 Courses by Arizona Business Magazine, and a 4.5 out of 5 stars from Golf Advisor.
The Lookout Mountain greens varied in speed and were in very nice shape when we played. Did we mention that the greens were quite challenging - the really were! The fairways were in wonderful shape on nearly all holes. The staff was friendly and our play was kept at a good pace with little or no waiting. Lookout Mountain is a "player friendly" course while being both fun, and challenging!

The summers in the valley are very hot, but mid-October through mid-May are absolutely beautiful. The course was in excellent condition, and gets a very good rating for fun, desert beauty, and difficulty. We give the course a solid 4.5, on a rating scale of one to five!

Lookout Mountain falls within our top 20 courses for the valley! It's just a short 20 minute drive from just about anywhere in the valley. Located in N.W. Phoenix, we recommend Lookout Mountain Golf Club - It's Hot!

Don't forget, Lookout Mountain offers full resort accommodations via the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. . .

Rancho Manana Golf Club:
Rancho Manana is a fantastic golf course, well maintained, fun-to-play, and features some of the most breathtaking and scenic views in N. Phoenix (Cave Creek to be exact). This course may be just a little off the beaten path but well worth the drive. It just happens to be one of our favorites in the area. This course is quite challenging with its elevated tee boxes and narrow fairways. Rancho Manana features a par 70 championship course nestled in unspoiled desert terrain. There are several elevated par-threes that are absolutely delightful while still quite challenging.
The Rancho Manana greens were slow and just a little rough, and slow, but challenging nonetheless. The fairways were in perfect shape with lush green grass awaiting our second shot, approachs up to the greens on the par-fours. The staff was friendly and helpful while play kept a good pace with no waiting on the tee boxes. All in all, Rancho Manana is a "player friendly" course and extremely fun to play!

We all know the summers in the valley are quite hot, but mid-October through May are absolutely beautiful. The course was in excellent condition, and gets our highest rating for fun, beauty, and skill. We give the course layout a solid 9, on a rating scale of one to ten!

No doubt we'll definitely play Rancho Manana again and again as it easily lands in our top 5 for the valley! It's a great course, and just a short 20 minute drive from Scottsdale. Located in N. Phoenix (Cave Creek), we highly recommend Rancho Manana Golf Club! Rancho Manana Golf Club - It's Hot!

Don't forget, Rancho Manana offers full resort accommodations, spa, and a wonderful bar and grill for your after golf pleasure. . .

McDowell Mountain Golf Club:
McDowell Mountain is a well maintained, fun-to-play course located in N. Scottsdale. If you're anywhere in the Scottsdale area, it is easily accessible, and if you're anywhere else in the Phoenix area it is worth the drive at least once. This course is somewhat challenging for most levels of golfers, from beginner to pro. One of the claims to fame of this particular course is that it's operated by Phil Mickelson and coach Steve Loy. The course features widened and reshaped fairways to allow you to keep it in play. The par-five 9th offers ample opportunity for birdie. If you're a big hitter, you may have a shot at driving the green on the par-four 16th. McDowell Mountain is a "player friendly" course and quite fun to play!

The staff at McDowel Mountain Golf Club was mostly friendly and accommodating. However, our pace of play was quite slow, with a completion time of just under 5:15. There were several groups both ahead and behind us and the marshal was no where to be found. The summers in the valley are very hot so get out early and stay hydrated. The course was in pretty good condition, with some of the greens being quite challenging. We give the course layout a solid 7, on a rating scale of one to ten. Be sure to ask about their 2021 Summer Pass - it's really a great deal!

We'll definitely play McDowell Mountain again, but it probably won't be our first choice. It's a great course, and conveniently located in N. Scottsdale. We recommend McDowell Mountain Golf Club, if for no other reason than to support the local Scottsdale economy.

Eagle Mountain Golf Club:
Wow, what a beautiful course, nestled in the mountains at Fountain Hills! Eagle Mountain is a wonderful course with breathtaking views of the mountains and surrounding areas. It's close to the Heart of Scottsdale and is absolutely fun to play! This course is challenging for all level of golfers, but be certain to keep in in the fairway. Once you're off the fairway you never know what you might encounter. When we played we had an chance encounter with a pack of Javelina while looking for a wayward tee shot! The course is perfect for all levels of golfers whether your hitting from the tips, the whites or golds, this place if FUN!

The staff at Eagle Mountain Golf Club was friendly from and helpful. Our pace of play was about average (4:20 minutes start to finish) as there were several groups both ahead and behind us. The temperature began to heat up pretty good around 10:45AM so get out there early and drink lots of liquids. Because the course was in such good condition, it made for an absolutely delightful round! The course layout was about a 4.5 on a rating scale of one to five, with some challenging par 4s and some longer par 5s. The greens were very quick on the day we played with challenging pin placements.

We are very much looking forward to playing the Eagle Mountain Golf Course again soon as it is perfect for our level of play, close to downtown Scottsdale, and is absolutely beautiful. It's a Hot little course, and with summer upon us there are great deals to be found at the local courses, and Eagle Mountain is no exception. We definitely recommend Eagle Mountain Golf Club, and you will be supporting the local Scottsdale economy when you do. Eagle Mountain Golf Club/Course - It's Hot!

Mountain Shadows Golf Club:
Want to dial-up your short game? Mountain Shadows Golf Course is perfect for that. It's one of the most beautiful desert courses you'll play! With beautiful views of the Paradise Valley and surrounding areas, it really can't be beat! While it's a "short course," meaning a Par 3/18 Hole, it's as fun as it gets. It is perfect for the beginner, the intermediate and the experienced golfer. Make no mistake, this baby is short! Multiple greens can be reached with a 56-wedge. . .

Mountain Shadows Golf Club is a spectacular little course tucked away in Central Scottsdale. This little course is fun and challenging, with its undulating greens. The staff was friendly from arrival to departure and our pace of play was perfect, with no golfers in sight ahead of us or behind. Carl Spackler (of Caddyshack fame) was definitely NOT the assistant greens keeper at Mountain Shadows as the course was in impeccable shape - absolutely perfect! The course layout was a solid seven on a rating scale of one to ten. After all, it's just a Par 3.

I can't wait to play Mountain Shadows Golf Course again - and soon! It's a Hot little course, and while a little more pricey than I would have expected, a decent value for the fun you'll have. It's a fairly easy course, with the exception of the challenging greens. As for fun after your round, there is plenty to choose from at the Mountain Shadows resort with multiple restaurants and an outdoor patio/bar that is unbelievable relaxing and equally as beautiful with the surrounding mountain backdrop. I recommend giving Mountain Shadows Golf Club a try, I'm think you'll really love it, for what it is! Mountain Shadows Short Course - It's Hot!

OrangeTree Golf Club:
I'll bet you're happy that you either live in the Scottsdale area or visit the Scottsdale area. Either way, you're in the golf mecca of the Southwest and there aren't too many days that the sun doesn't shine so this is for those folks who love the links!

OrangeTree Golf Club is a wonderful little course nestled in Northwest Scottsdale. It's just minutes away from just about everything and is a very forgiving course with wide open fairways and generous greens.

The course was in absolutely fabulous shape when I played it. As great as the course is, the best thing about OrangeTree is the staff. They couldn't have been more friendly and they even cut us a deal on our greens fees since we got a late start (we didn't even have to ask for it)! Note: on a previous golf outing at OrangeTree I forgot my wallet in the cart when I rushed off the course in a pouring rain and utter darkness. Needless to say, not the best weather for golf. That said, the next day I showed up at the pro-shop and the staff greeted me with a smile and my wallet. Nothing missing and they wouldn't even let me give them the cash inside. Something to be said for honesty served up with a simile. I just love these guys!
Would I play OrangeTree Golf Club again - you bet I will! It's a Hot little course, moderately priced, and difficult enough to be challenging but not too difficult to have a great time! Give OrangeTree Golf Club a try, I'm certain you'll love it! It's Hot!

The Phoenician Golf Club:
Another great golf course in the Scottsdale area, The Phoenician Golf Club in central Scottsdale. There are many wonderful things about The Phoenician Golf Club. First, it's centrally located to just about everything in the area, while being only about 25 minutes from just about all areas of the valley. Next, the resort features everything you'd expect from a world-class resort, including dining, spa facilities, world-class accommodations and of course great golf. Finally, a friendly, knowledgeable staff available for your every need.

Now, let's talk about the absolutely gorgeous golf facilities, which are nestled at the base of the picturesque Camelback Mountain and in the middle of some of the most beautiful and pricey real estate in all of the southwest. The course is very well maintained, as you might expect from a resort of this caliber, and is as beautiful as it is challenging. The course is a par 71 and is approximately 6,000 yards from the middle tees (Junction Tees). It features a 69.6 rating and a 124 slope. We particularly enjoyed the par-3, number 3 hole, which featured a slightly elevated, undulating green that's surrounded by bunkers on all sides. This little par-3 is challenging to say the least. The only thing that could have made this course a little better was a few more par-5. After all, we all need a little help with our scores. Speaking of par-5's, the number 8 was notable; it played 470 yards and is reachable in two. The green is two-tiered and is a blind shot from the right side of the fairway. We really enjoyed playing this par-5 and think you will too!

Again, the staff is professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The equipment and all facilities are well maintained and up-to-date. Scottsdale-Road Golf loves The Phoenician and we recommend playing this course no matter your skill level. Note: for a resort course The Phoenician course is very challenging so be on your game! By the way, when you check in at the bag drop ask for Mason and Mason, these two fellas are friendly and helpful. Tell them your friends at Scottsdale Road Golf sent you! Enjoy The Phoenician Golf Club, you're going to love it - IT'S HOT!

Ocotillo Golf Club:
A beautiful, and challenging golf course in the in the valley, Ocotillo Golf Club in Chandler, a short drive from Scottsdale. The Ocotillo golf course is an absolutely beautiful course featuring water on nearly every hole, not what you'd expect in the middle of the desert. While Ocotillo is located in Chandler, it's well worth the drive. The course features rolling hills, lakes/ponds, more ducks/geese that you've probably ever seen in your life, and yes, very challenging play. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help make your experience the best it could be. Ocotillo Golf Club is complete with its practice facilities featuring driving and putting areas, an amazing pro-shop, and a top-notch restaurant/bar.

The Ocotillo grounds are absolutely gorgeous, with wide open, undulating fairways, and pristine greens, this course is an absolute joy to play. The course was in great shape, as you would expect for this time of year in the desert. Did we mention water in the desert? Yes, it's worth stating again, you'll find water on 14 holes! The course features 27 holes, 3 nine-hole courses with yardages ranging from 5,128 to 7,016 from the tips. Designed by renowned course architect Ted Robinson, this course is as beautiful as it is challenging. The course is a par 72 with a slope rating of 133 and a 72.2 rating. Course management is a must if you're going to keep your score down. We enjoyed every hole as each is unique unto itself. It's worth restating, course management is essential in order to keep your score down.

Again, the staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist. The equipment and all facilities are well maintained. Scottsdale-Road Golf loves Ocotillo Golf Club and we highly recommend it to our subscribers and visitors. When you check in at the pro shop, tell them your friends at Scottsdale Road Golf sent you! Enjoy Ocotillo Golf Club, you're going to love it - IT'S HOT!

The Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club:
The Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club is located in the west valley, Glendale, and is a short drive from both Scottsdale and Phoenix. The course was in slightly above average condition when we played it, which was a little disappointing for this time of year (January). Nonetheless, the course was nice and fairly challenging. The Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club features a driving range, practice putting greens, and an adequate pro-shop, complete with a restaurant/bar.

The course and practice facilities were in good shape and again slightly above average. TLAAGC is an Arnold Palmer championship golf course and features multiple doglegs, including six lakes. Positioned at the base of a rugged mountain slope, it's quite beautiful. The course features 18 holes with yardages ranging from 5,233 to 7,005 from the tips. The course is a par 72 with a slope rating of 131 and a 73.0 rating. We particularly enjoyed hole #6, a par-5 for its length (507 yards from the Yellow tees), water on the right as you approach and its small green, doglegged right, and guarded by two small front-side bunkers. Similarly, we enjoyed hole #18, a par-5 (494 yards from the Yellow tees), which also featured water on the right, all the way up and past the green. The green is guarded on three sides by bunkers making it especially challenging.

The staff was friendly but not overly friendly. The equipment and all facilities were in slightly above average shape with the carts being the weakness in our experience (older and in average shape). Scottsdale-Road Golf is neutral on The Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club, and while we enjoyed our round there are plenty of other courses throughout the valley that may be more enjoyable. Enjoy your round at The Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club.

Palm Valley Golf Club:
Palm Valley Golf Club is located in the west valley, Goodyear to be exact, and is a moderate drive from both Scottsdale and Phoenix. The course was in average condition, at best, when we played it, which was a somewhat disappointing for this time of year (January). Palm Valley features three 9-hole championship courses; the North Course, the South Course, and the West Course. Nonetheless, golf is golf and we love to play the game. Palm Valley Golf Club features a driving range, practice putting greens, and an small pro-shop, and an adequate restaurant/bar.

The course and practice facilities were in average shape at the time of play. The course was designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills, and features everything you'd expect in a good course; including water on multiple holes, doglegs, and well guarded greens (bunkers). The course is slightly above average in both esthetics and condition. The course features 27 holes with yardages ranging from 5,300 to 7,015 from the tips. It's a par 72 with a slope rating of 131 and a 73.3 rating. We particularly enjoyed hole #6, a par-4 (South), which played 410 yards from the White tees, doglegged left, featuring a large and fairly flat green. We also enjoyed hole #2 (North), a par-5 (480 yards from the White tees), requiring a strong stroke off the tee, but watch out for the desert on the right side as it may come into play. The elevated green is guarded by two left side bunkers adding to the challenge.

The staff was friendly at check-in, and the equipment and facilities were in slightly above average shape. Scottsdale-Road Golf is neutral on Palm Valley Golf Club, and while we enjoyed our round there are plenty of other courses throughout the valley that will undoubtedly be in better shape. Enjoy your round at Palm Valley Golf Club.

Playing Sedona Golf Resort will undoubtedly be one of the best golf experiences of your life! Sedona Golf Resort has some of the most amazing views you'll find anywhere in the world and you will absolutely love it. If you could play golf in the Grand Canyon, Sedona Golf Resort would be it! It is an absolute must for any golfer. Sedona Golf Resort features everything you'd expect from a top-notch golf resort: including a driving range, practice putting greens, and an amazing pro-shop. The restaurant overlooks the 1st tee and the 18th green and the view only adds to this amazing experience.

The course and practice facilities were in tip-top shape and ready to challenge even the most experienced of golfers. The championship course is known for it's four-star reviews from Golf Digest and you'll see why once you've played. The course is as challenging as it is beautiful. A par-71 course featuring 18 holes of championship golf while playing anywhere between 5,075 to 6,646, with a slope rating of 129 and a 70.6 rating. We enjoyed hole #1, a par-4, which played 326 yards from the White tees, straight forward from the elevated tee-box, and a challenging putting surface. We also enjoyed hole #12, a par-5 (533 yards from the White tees), a dogleg left with a large bunker to the right and several smaller bunkers to the left guarding this challenging green. There are too many breathtakingly wonderful holes to list. This is arguably the most beautiful course we've had the pleasure of playing and we're certain you'll agree!

The staff was very friendly from check-in, until the time we parked the cart at the clubhouse. Scottsdale-Road Golf is a big fan of Sedona Golf Resort, and we absolutely recommend it. It's more than worth the nearly two hour drive to magical Sedona and we guarantee you'll never forget it. Enjoy your round at Sedona Golf Resort - IT'S HOT!

Raven Golf Club:
Raven Golf Club, situated in the Tempe area, is a stunning golf course that is definitely worth the 30-minute or so drive from N. Scottsdale. With beautiful Georgia pines lining the fairways and multi-tiered greens, the course is in superb condition. The practice areas, including the driving range, putting greens, and chipping areas, are also in fantastic shape.
Raven Golf Club has been highly praised, receiving a 4.5-star review from Golf Digest and being ranked as the 5th best golf course in Arizona by Arizona Magazine. The par-72 course, designed by Gary Panks and David Grahm, spans 7,078 yards and accommodates players of all skill levels. With a slope rating of 132 and a 73.2 rating, this championship course offers a satisfying challenge for golf enthusiasts.

Particularly noteworthy are the 6th hole, a par-4 with water on the left and a fairway bunker, and the 17th hole, a 593-yard par-5 that is truly testing. The beautiful landscape and engaging course design make Raven Golf Club one of the best courses in the valley.

Not only is the course itself remarkable, but the staff at Raven Golf Club are also exceptionally friendly and helpful. Moreover, the greens fees are surprisingly affordable, adding to the overall appeal of the club. The drive from N. Scottsdale or wherever your coming from is well worth the trip. Scottsdale Road Golf and Scottsdale-Road.com highly recommend Raven Golf Club - IT'S HOT!
Kokopelli Golf Club:
At Scottsdale-Road Golf, we are committed to promoting the best golf experiences in the Scottsdale area. We have a variety of resources to help you discover the top courses in the area, and our team is dedicated to providing you with the best possible experience on and off the course.

Kokopelli Golf Club is located in Gilbert, just southeast of Scottsdale. To be honest, there's not a whole lot to say about Kokopelli Golf Club. The course was so poorly maintained that we hesitate to even take the time to list the specifics. What we can say is the staff was friendly. The facilities are complete with driving, putting, and chipping areas. Additionally, Kokopelli offers a full service bar/restaurant with a friendly staff. We have to be honest here and tell you that if this course were FREE we'd have trouble justifying the drive to Gilbert. Take our advice and choose any of the more than 200 courses throughout the valley and you can thank us later.

Again, the staff was friendly, but the course was consumed by weeds, the fairways were bare/dirt, and following any rain there are more lakes than Minnesota. Scottsdale-Road Golf is not a fan of Kokopelli Golf Club, and we recommend bowling over playing this golf course. If you decide to try this course out, please remember that we warned you!

Kierland Golf Club:
For anyone looking to play golf in the Scottsdale area, the Kierland Golf Club offers something more than just the traditional golfing experience. The scenic layout, designed by Scott Miller, presents a beautiful backdrop of desert landscapes and adds to the challenge and enjoyment of your round. What's great about the Kierland course is that you may select the traditional golf cart, a Golfboard, golf bikes, Segway and of course the old-fashioned way to navigate the course is simply walking.

Kierland's unique set up with three nines, allows for three different 18-hole combinations, providing golfers with an enticing variety that ensures each round can feel fresh and engaging. Acacia, Mesquite, and Ironwood, provide unique combinations, giving golfers a range of experiences across 18 holes. Acacia's picturesque par-4 is a signature hole at Kierland and offers a unique challenge with 14 bunkers and an 8-foot trap. The Mesquite Sixth-hole is the most challenging, it presents a real test for golfers looking to master the course. The par-72 course, Spanning 5,820 to 7,017 yards, and with a slope rating of 127 and a course rating of 73.1, provides a satisfying game for golfers of all abilities.

The proximity of Kierland Golf Club to shopping, dining, and other recreational amenities indeed makes it an attractive destination for more than just golf enthusiasts. A trip to Kierland can be a multifaceted experience, catering to a variety of interests and preferences sure to please everyone.

Kierland Golf Club offers a well-rounded experience for golf enthusiasts, combining a beautifully designed course with attentive staff, engaging challenges, and affordable greens fees. Scottsdale Road Golf and Scottsdale-Road.com highly recommend Kierland Golf Club - IT'S HOT!
Las Sendas Golf Club:
Las Sendas Golf Club is located in the east valley, East Mesa to be exact, and it can be quite a drive from both Scottsdale and Phoenix. The course is beautiful with amazing views of the mountains as well as the valley. The course condition was equally amazing with perfectly manicured greens and rolling fairways. That said, we were extremely disappointed in the staff at Las Sendas. They were not friendly or accommodating at all on our visit, which was a most disappointing considering it was the height of the golf season in Arizona (January). Nonetheless, the course was beautiful and very challenging. Las Sendas Golf Club features a wonderful driving range, practice putting greens, and a well equipped pro-shop. Additionally, there are snack bars on site as well as a restaurant and bar. Unfortunately, we did not partake in the restaurant because the restaurant staff was as rude as the pro-shop staff, causing us to get up and walk out prior to ordering.

Let's talk about the course and practice facilities: both were in immaculate shape and superior to most courses in the valley. We can see why Las Sendas Golf Club is often considered one of the top 10 courses in the valley. A Robert Trent Jones Jr. course, Las Sendas is a desert layout meandering through the beautiful mountains of east Mesa. The course features 18 holes with yardages ranging from 5,188 to 7,005 from the tips. The course is an 18 hole par 72 with a slope rating of 145 and a 73.4 rating. We particularly enjoyed hole #13, as it was breathtaking. You'll need to have a good drive off the tee at 13 to set up for your approach to the green. The green was perfectly manicured and quick. Tough putting for certain as the putting surface slopes strongly away from the hillside. We think you'll find number both #9 and #10 to be quite challenging. #9 is a par-5 which double doglegs around two lakes and can easily scare you on the approach, while #10 is a par-4 and equally as difficult with its dogleg and sand-traps.

While the Las Sendas website boasts "setting the standard for customer service," DON'T BELIEVE IT! Again, The staff was not at all friendly and very unaccommodating. However, the course and its views were top-notch! While Scottsdale-Road Golf loved the course itself, we're neutral on Las Sendas Golf Club, due to the staffs attitude. The course itself is definitely not for the beginner and you will find that no two holes are alike, and while we enjoyed our round there are plenty of other courses throughout the valley that may be more enjoyable with much friendlier staffs. Enjoy your round at Las Sendas Golf Club.

Dobson Ranch Golf Club:
Dobson Ranch Club Course, located in the Mesa Arizona, is a wonderful golf course that is definitely worth the 30-minute or so drive from N. Scottsdale. It's friendly and hip. Definitely not your average course. Dobson Ranch offers a top-tier driving range complete with music and seating (bring your wife or girlfriend to watch you do what you do). It's definitely not a stuffy, grandpa golf course like many throughout the valley. They also feature a wonderful chipping area and putting greens to prepare you for what's to come. . . The golf shop is extensive and they feature a great little bar/grill and a food truck.

Dobson Ranch Golf Course is fun and challenging for all skill levels. The par-72 course, designed by Red Lawrence and Jeff Hardin plays 5,600 to 6,630 yards, with a slope rating of 123 and a 71.1 rating, this course offers a satisfying challenge for all golf enthusiasts and is one of Scottsdale-Road Golf's favorites!

Particularly noteworthy are the 8th hole, a par-4 with dogleg left playing just about 400 yards (#1 handicap), but beware the creek running down the left and in front of the green. We really enjoyed playing each of the par 3 holes, but be certain to get your tee shot close to the pin as the greens are extremely challenging.

Dobson Ranch Golf Course is a remarkable muni course for certain, and the staff are exceptionally friendly, probably one of the top five courses in the valley for friendliness! We like that! This course is in fantastic shape and well worth the drive from anywhere in the valley. Scottsdale Road Golf and Scottsdale-Road.com absolutely loves Dobson Ranch and their friendly staff. Scottsdale Road Golf highly recommends Dobson Ranch Golf Course - IT'S HOT!
Sterling Grove Golf Club:
Sterling Grove Golf Club, situated in the west valley, Surprise to be exact, is a truly amazing golf course set in a former farm grove with beautiful desert vistas. Its well worth the drive from anywhere in the valley. From the lush and perfectly manicured fairways to the extremely challenging greens this place is outstanding and a favorite of Scottsdale Road Golf. The course is complete with a beautiful driving range, pitching/chipping ares and a spacious putting area for practice. The pro-shop is fantastic and the facilities and new and comfortable.
.
Sterling Grove Golf Club, while one of the newer courses in the valley is exceptional. The par-72 course, designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, spans 4,886 to 7,258 yards and accommodates players of all skill levels. With a slope of 133 and a 74.1 rating, this championship course offers a more than ample challenge those golfers who dare.

Scottsdale Road Golf found the par-3, 3rd hole, particularly difficult with its bunker-guarded green, and extremely difficult putting surface. The greens at Sterling Grove make more changes than a teenager on prom night, and beware the false fronts on most of the greens, your ball could very well roll all the way to Tucson! We also enjoyed playing the par-4, 6th with water on the left and and a few strategically placed green-side bunkers. A good tee shot on #6 can set you up for a rare birdie. The beautiful landscape and engaging course design make Sterling Grove Golf Club one of the best courses in the valley. The rolling greens are more than challenging and faster than "Winning Brew" in the quarter mile!

This course is so much fun and challenging. The wide open fairways make you think its easier than it is, but don't be fooled. The golf staff at Sterling Grove Golf Club are quite friendly and helpful, and while the greens fees aren't the cheapest in the valley its more than worth the cost and the drive! Scottsdale Road Golf and Scottsdale-Road.com highly recommend Sterling Grove Golf Club - IT'S HOT!
